ECNU Zijiang Charity Center inaugurated│Align with the university to build China’s charity talent circle

Right after the beginning of the new year, the inauguration of ECNU Research Institute for Charity Management and ECNU Zijiang Charity Center is held in Yifu Building, Zhongbei Campus by Zijiang Foundation and ECNU on January 12.
Present at the inauguration are ECNU President Chen Qun, Director of Office of Social Science Wu Ruijun, Dean of the School of Social Development Huang Chenxi, Director of Office of Liaison (General Secretary of ECNUEDF) Xing Hexiang, Director of Office of Academic Affairs Lei Qili, Deputy Director of Office of Liaison (Vice General Secretary of ECNUEDF) Zhu Jie, VP of Shanghai Zijiang (Group) Co., Ltd Tang Jifeng, Chairman of Zijiang Foundation Liu Han, General Secretary Chen Lin and Vice General Secretary Fan Jiayan, as well as some staff members from relevant departments. In the first year the new Charity Law comes into force, the establishment of ECNU Research Institute for Charity Management demonstrates ECNU’s historic mission and academic responsibility in this field, she says. The launch of ECNU Zijiang Charity Center is also a milestone. She believes that ECNU Zijiang Charity Center will set golden standards for the charity talent circle in Shanghai and even the East China region, become a cradle of high-end talents and build an important talent pool for China’s charity sector.

ECNU Research Institute for Charity Management
Universities and colleges are cradles of charity management talents and power houses of charity studies. For a long time charity was not an established discipline in the higher education system of China. Without specialists in teaching and academic studies, this discipline cannot grow. ECNU Research Institute for Charity Management is organized by the School of Social Development, ECNUEDF, Office of Academic Affairs and other relevant schools, departments and units, is affiliated to the School of Social Development and managed in a multi-center mode. One of its subordinate units is ECNU Zijiang Charity Center.
Its goal is to become an important research base for charity management, a talent development and training base, and a think tank for driving development of charity in China.

ECNU Zijiang Charity Center
ECNU Zijiang Charity Center is the first charity education center under ECNU Research Institute for Charity Management.
ECNU Zijiang Charity Center, backed by the faculty and platform of ECNU in the charity field, aims to foster specialized and applied charity management talents of high caliber who have a strong sense of commonweal and social responsibility, have a good command of systematic knowledge of charity management, keep abreast with the latest developments in philanthropic undertakings, are well grounded in charity management theories and practical skills and competent for organization and management, project implementation, professional service and theoretical study roles at charitable organizations and CSR departments.

- Charity Management Minor Program
- Charity Management Talent Summer Program
- Overseas Visiting Student Program
These programs of ECNU Zijiang Charity Center begin to enroll students officially in Sep. 2017.
ECNU Zijiang Charity Center is managed by a Board of Directors, comprising leaders of ECNU, the School of Social Development, ECNUEDF and Office of Social Science.
